Goodbye Dinner

L1040767

We are almost ready to go back to Florida. We have left the cabin and moved into Jack’s house until we go back. The cabin is not winterized. So as the temperatures drop, our landlords close it up for the winter. Jack’s house is up the road. We spend time there during the summer – washer and dryer are there.

We decided to have some friends in for dinner.

The weather is perfect for Pot Roast.  A salad bar and bread will accompany the roast which has been cooked with potatoes and carrots.

  14. Carol, what a wonderful meal! And that fire makes it so cozy and intimate. Love that! Your green Depression Glass is just the right hint of green to echo the greens in the centerpiece. Looks like the perfect setting for friends to gather!

  17. Well of course it will be a success -- how can it miss with that menu and that table? It's just right for that room, in this season. Rustic and elegant, all at the same time.
    Gorgeous.
And the room itself? Wowser! Simply stunning; what views. I love the shots at night, in the candlelight.
    Very atmospheric.
And now -- have a SAFE and uneventful trip south!

  21. I am GREEN with envy over that beautiful depression glass as well as that gorgeous wood floor!!! How special to be able to entertain in such a lovely location.

I think I have that exact square glass platter that you've served your salad in. I've never used it for such & will now have to rethink...it looks delicious especially with the artful arrangement. Well done!
