Testing Blogo

I am trying to find a replacement for Live Writer! I have a Mac and I am most anxious to use it to its full capacity. I am having trouble..... I find the blogger ok but it just takes so long to upload the pictures that I forget what I am writing about. Live Writer just snaps them right into place and allows some editing and enhancement right on the spot! I loved the ability to watermark the photos.
So what's a girl to do? I will probably have some non-essential posts while I figure this out. I am going to play with pictures now!

I would be interested in knowing what programs other Mac users like for blogging. Meanwhile I shall keep studying and doing research.

Sunday Favorites - Outdoor Wednesday in Camden

This Sunday I am joining Chari at Happy to Design for Sunday Favorites!

Camden, Maine is one of our favorite trips in the summer and yesterday I made reservations for this fall.

Please join Susan at a Southern Daydreamer for Outdoor Wednesday.

No I am not done with Camden  yet! We look forward to it all year and each year we seem to enjoy it even more. We are both creatures of habit so we stay in the same inn in the same room and eat at the same restaurants. Each year we venture a little further and this year we made some wonderful discoveries. The Lord Camden Inn is right in the middle of town so we park our car in their lot and walk everywhere.

The Camden Deli is right across the street for breakfast.

After breakfast we wander around the harbor area.

Then we get in the car and take a field trip.

We always take a drive to Lincolnville home of  Cellardoor Winery. They have a new wine. Yes, it is called Serendipity!

And this is the description!

We tasted the wines and brought some back to the cabin. We were also delighted to find out that the wines can be shipped to some states – Florida being one of them. Yeah! We will take some Maine to Florida with us.
Rockport is just outside of Camden. There is a lovely little harbor which was the home of Andre the seal and there is wonderful farm home to Belted Galloway cattle. Last year we drove all over – not a cow in sight. This year there they were. They must have known I had a new camera.

Just love these oreo cookie cows.
So then on this day of doing things just a little differently, we found a new place for lunch. We had seen this little restaurant but it was not open when we were there. Well it was this time. Wow!

The name of the restaurant is Paolina’s Way and it was wonderful. We had an antipasto, fish soup, bread and pizza and I had gelato for dessert.L1010349

Raspberry, Coconut, and Chocolate Gelato sprinkled with cocoa  powder and served with a big spoonful of Nutella on a square of pastry. There wasn’t much left.
I am still not done with Camden. I think some mosaics are in order. Have a wonderful Outdoor Wednesday.

Pink Saturday – a rose vase

Another Pink Saturday at Beverly’s How Sweet the Sound. This is a fun event that many participate in and enjoy. Please stop by and see what everyone has posted (after you have left a comment here, of course).

I am very fortunate to have some hand painted china that was done by a great, great aunt. Each time I look at her work I am awestruck. I love roses and usually have them in the house. The price of a dozen from the market are affordable and I choose them as my treat instead of many other treats that are out there.

Last week I visited Grace at Pink in the City. She has a good sense of humor and nice posts. I love the one about the mismatched sox. Don’t forget to visit the other posts.

Happy Pink Saturday!

Tablescape Thursday

Today is one of my favorite days of the week. We all play with our dishes. I love to see all the pretty dishes everyone has and try to find new ways to set my table. Susan at Between Naps on the Porch plays hostess for Tablescape Thursday each week. Be sure to stop by and see what she has done and what all the others have done. This tablescape is rather simple. The Vietri Pottery stands alone I think. The pattern is La Fenice and is named for a small hotel on the Amalfi Coast. I would love to go there! The candlesticks are from Provence. The tablecloth, mats and napkins are from Williams-Sonoma. The glasses are from Pottery Barn.

Mosaic Monday on the Lanai

Another Monday and another mosaic! The days are just flying by with all the activity in blog land. Join Mary at Little Red House to see all the amazing mosaics.
If you have been following my last couple of posts you might remember that today is a stay at home, restful, catch up, cup of tea kind of day. The pink pajamas will stay on for a while and then we might go out to lunch. I think a lazy morning is probably all I will be able to do.
When I first moved to Florida and had a lanai, all I could think about was a poolside garden. I had lovely large pots and I filled them with gardenias, hibiscus and lemon trees. I had collected some wrought iron pieces which I arranged on the walls. It was beautiful. We headed back up north for the summer. When we came back the lanai was covered with black mold! The monsoon-like downpours that happen in Florida over the summer had splashed the rich potting soil all over…..So now I have silks. We put the pots away for the summer and set them up when we come back. I replace them every 3-4 years. I can still look out and see greenery but no more black mold.
The mosaic below is done with Photoscape.

The mosaic below was done with Picasa.

The header on my blog is a picture from the lanai wall that I took into Photoshop and turned into a painting done with a palette knife.
Have a great week!
