If I were to paint.....

I am fascinated with altering my photographs. I would love to paint and always wanted to but my works of art were questionable at best. The amazing photography programs that are available are just plain fun to experiment with. PicMonkey was my choice this morning.

This photo becomes a painting.
The photo of the peony looking out the cabin window changes as well with some of the effects and textures found in this free program.

Each time I visit this program, there is a new effect to try. I just experiment and I know I should write down what I have done but I always forget!

Pink on copper....

We had friends in last night before going out to dinner. I love flowers on an hors d'oeuvres plate. I had hoped for snap dragons but they were dragging from the heat wave but the pansies were happy to oblige.

A little antiquing earlier in the day found this pitcher and it followed me home. I shall add this to my Majolica in Florida. Each year I say I will not "find" anything but that just doesn't work. So a box has been started in the closet of "stuff" to ship back....

The peonies were perfect for picking and I liked the way they looked against the copper.

I am joining Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for another Pink Saturday. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Cabin time....

Well, it has taken us a while to get settled but we are almost there. We took a trip to Flowerbed Farm just to look but of course that never happens.

I always take my camera because her flowers and vignettes are beautiful.

These are the glass plates and glasses I didn't buy.....silver overlay on amethyst. Just beautiful.

Then we went to The Sweet Laurel for my garden flowers. Dee arranges plants is containers in a marvelous way and I set up an area right outside the porch.

Sitting on the glider, looking at the lake and my garden and knitting or reading give me strength not to mention much pleasure. Often the loons are making their wonderful cries in the background.

This afternoon I shall sit on the glider and knit.

I shall look at the herbs in the window boxes. One is planted just with basil. The other has rosemary, parsley, thyme, and cilantro. I need to get some tarragon and we will be set for the summer.

Have a wonderful week!
