A Valentine

I love Valentine’s Day and I have since I was a child. At school there was always a beautiful mailbox decorated by the teacher and the valentines would be placed inside to be passed out at the party at the end of the day.

I don’t know if this is still done in school but it was a very special day for us. I wish I had saved some of them.

I received this valentine from my grandmother and grandfather when I was 3 and that was a long time ago! I have been decluttering and organizing and found this card in box of wonderful family photographs.

You can see more of my hearts here.

I am joining Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday. Be sure to stop by and say hi.

  8. So sweet! One of my favorite memories about school was the day we exchanged Valentines. I'm a teacher and we still do that, only I usually have my students make their own boxes or decorate a white paper bag. It's still a big hit with kids! Hope you have a Happy Pink Saturday!

  9. At least you saved a very special valentine! Speaking of cleaning out, I've yet to find my special valentines that I sit about each year. Very frustrating and definitely indicating that a clean out is a necessity--at least before Easter!

    Happy Valentine's Day!

    Best,
    Bonnie

  13. Very sweet Valentine. They still do pass out Valentine's but Justin Bieber and other stars, and Disney characters don the Valentines. In our schools, they decorate a Valentine box and enter it into a competition. Those that win get a spot in the library. My daughter did a "Valentine Dinner For 2" Tablescape this year. It was cute. Happy Valentine's Day. Joni
