Pink and Silver….
I am joining Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for another Pink Saturday. My Holiday Giveaway is still open until Thanksgiving Day. More details can be found in my sidebar and my header!
Now, off to my pink and silver. I am always impressed with tablescapes that feature vintage items. So, imagine how excited I was to find a service of silverplate flatware in a silver chest lined with pink! The 1957 pattern is Exquisite by Rogers and there is a service for 12+!!! And it was polished or rarely used. And there are serving pieces…And I didn’t pay a lot for it….
The chest was a little scruffy but Olde English scratch remover cleaned it right up!
Have an Exquisite Pink Saturday!

Thanksgiving Table
I know this is an early Thanksgiving table but there is a reason! We are going to a friend’s house for Thanksgiving dinner but we wanted to have our own leftovers! So we started yesterday with our preparations! Jack chopped and I baked.
One pumpkin bread and 4 date nut breads later…..
My baking was done! In the name of “at least trying to watch what we eat”. I did not make dessert.
I think Thanksgiving dinner is about my favorite. I don’t cook a turkey anymore. We cook chicken instead which we brine. However, creamed onions are a must along with stuffing made with smoked oysters. Homemade cranberry sauce and rutabagas and mashed potatoes complete the dinner. And, of course, there is gravy. My mother always had a relish try. Celery stuffed with Roka cheese spread was one of my favorites. When I was growing up there was always homemade pickled watermelon rind.
The cabinet just outside the kitchen is decorated.
So, let’s take a look at the table.
Dishes from Williams Sonoma
Candlesticks Caprice by Cambridge
Tablecloth WS
Stemware, vintage but unknown
Flatware, Exquisite by Rogers (more on Saturday)
Creamer and sugar, Fenton
Relish tray, vintage from my grandmother
I am joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday. Be sure to stop by and see all the pretty tables and dishes!
Holiday Giveaway
This is my favorite time of the year. I am planning my decorations, my menus, my gift wrapping and my tablescapes.
As I planned my giveaway, I decided upon the embroidered snowflakes because I have received so many compliments about them.
I like to just lay them on the branches of the tree with a light behind them just as though they had landed there. I have scattered them on a tablecloth. I have used them as as gift embellishments.
I hope they will be enjoyed!
Entry for the giveaway is through the 25th. You can read more details in my sidebar.
