We went to Greenville, ME this year for our anniversary. We stayed at the Greenville Inn and it was wonderful. You can read the blog here.
We usually go to Camden but with the new hip and the congestion, we thought we would go somewhere more contained. We had a suite with a sitting room. Perfect. It was chilly and it rained a bit so the sitting room was very convenient as I could set up a little office. I am still setting up the new computer.
There were gas fireplaces in most of the rooms so with the press of a button, there was a delightful little fire.
The Greenville Inn Was built by lumber baron William Shaw. He liked the latest and the finest. Intercoms throughout and marble soaking tubs with the fanciest of plumbing fixtures for the time.
The inn was begun in 1885. It was finished in 1895. It took 10 years for the woodworking and details to be completed.

That looks a great place to stay, with a lot of history, my kind of place. Great views from that lovely terrace. Love the old telephone. Is that a window with the tree in stained glass?

Carol, what a simply stunning place to stay for a special occasion such as your anniversary! I visited the Inn's website and it is truly a marvelous place. Reminds Dean and I of the Captain Lords Mansion in Kennebunkport, Maine you and Jack should visit some year.
