Fiesta on the table

image

I am joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for this fun event. Please stop by and see what the others have done with their dishes.

For years I have coveted admired Fiesta ware. This dinnerware can be read about here. I love all the colors. Recently, I was able to find dinner plates, some bowls and a few other pieces. Now, we can keep our eyes open for some of the more unusual pieces as we are out and about. The dishes are perfect in the cabin and match some of the other vintage items I have.

The last of the zinnias match the dishes in the cupboard!

I also collect banded glassware. I found these shot glasses and carrier at Deb’s Flowerbed Farm in Bridgton. I don’t need shot glasses but centerpiece came to mind! The garden is almost gone but these yellow snapdragons were still blooming.

I have had this vintage tablecloth for a few years. The Fiesta picks up the colors.

The two little specks on the lake are the loons – just out of camera range, of course. There are an adult and a chick and they fish in the cove while we eat dinner.

Another lovely post Carol. I love the Fiesta tableware, bright and cheerful, I haven't seen it in the UK though.I love the idea of the shot glasses as a centrepiece, very creative.

Hope all is well with you and Jack?

Just beautiful, Carol! Loved the banded glasses in the carrier being used as flower containers. The warmth of the candlelit interior contrasting the cool blue views outside your window -- stunning!

Hi Carol, I am so enjoying my visit to you that I have become your newest follower. I have spent lots of time in Me, as both my kids are in college there and I went to college there myself (in Lewiston). To live on a lake there is one of our current dreams for retirement, and when I get there the rules will include no ironing and no silver polishing. Is your lake quiet? It looks beautiful. The shot glasses as mini vases is clever. I used napkin rings on my table today to hold mums--they are hardy enough to go for a few hours without water! Looking forward to exploring more of your older posts! Linda

Your fiesta ware looks PERFECT with that vintage tablecloth. I just love them (vintage cloths) and nothing quite sets them off as well as fiesta.

It was cheerful and HAPPY in the bright light and warm and HOMEY in the candlelight. So pretty!

Looks like you've collected some nice pieces. I too love fiesta and have only one piece of my MILs. Many years old! It's fun to have "something" to be looking for when you're out and about ... hope you find more lovely ones.

Have a nice weekend and enjoy the cooler weather up there!

What a great collection of Fiesta you have! I love the colors and the shape, because they remind me of my grandmother's dishes. The cups look wonderful hanging on their hooks! And what a clever way to use the striped shot glasses!

I don't think that you can ever go wrong with Fiesta Ware. The shot glasses are wonderful, and I cold also see them used for individual floral arrangements at each place setting. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
