Pink and Silver….
I am joining Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for another Pink Saturday. My Holiday Giveaway is still open until Thanksgiving Day. More details can be found in my sidebar and my header!
Now, off to my pink and silver. I am always impressed with tablescapes that feature vintage items. So, imagine how excited I was to find a service of silverplate flatware in a silver chest lined with pink! The 1957 pattern is Exquisite by Rogers and there is a service for 12+!!! And it was polished or rarely used. And there are serving pieces…And I didn’t pay a lot for it….
The chest was a little scruffy but Olde English scratch remover cleaned it right up!
Have an Exquisite Pink Saturday!

Thanksgiving Table
I know this is an early Thanksgiving table but there is a reason! We are going to a friend’s house for Thanksgiving dinner but we wanted to have our own leftovers! So we started yesterday with our preparations! Jack chopped and I baked.
One pumpkin bread and 4 date nut breads later…..
My baking was done! In the name of “at least trying to watch what we eat”. I did not make dessert.
I think Thanksgiving dinner is about my favorite. I don’t cook a turkey anymore. We cook chicken instead which we brine. However, creamed onions are a must along with stuffing made with smoked oysters. Homemade cranberry sauce and rutabagas and mashed potatoes complete the dinner. And, of course, there is gravy. My mother always had a relish try. Celery stuffed with Roka cheese spread was one of my favorites. When I was growing up there was always homemade pickled watermelon rind.
The cabinet just outside the kitchen is decorated.
So, let’s take a look at the table.
Dishes from Williams Sonoma
Candlesticks Caprice by Cambridge
Tablecloth WS
Stemware, vintage but unknown
Flatware, Exquisite by Rogers (more on Saturday)
Creamer and sugar, Fenton
Relish tray, vintage from my grandmother
I am joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday. Be sure to stop by and see all the pretty tables and dishes!
Holiday Giveaway
This is my favorite time of the year. I am planning my decorations, my menus, my gift wrapping and my tablescapes.
As I planned my giveaway, I decided upon the embroidered snowflakes because I have received so many compliments about them.
I like to just lay them on the branches of the tree with a light behind them just as though they had landed there. I have scattered them on a tablecloth. I have used them as as gift embellishments.
I hope they will be enjoyed!
Entry for the giveaway is through the 25th. You can read more details in my sidebar.

Another Monday is coming up. I am joining Mary at Little Red House for this fun and creative event.
I am also planning my first giveaway (see sidebar) so my nose is to the needle on the embroidery machine. Look for a Hinting Header on Wednesday!
I have been playing with layers and filters.
Back to the embroidery machine!

Look what followed me home…
I am quite excited and thinking about making pink popsicles for Pink Saturday! I will be using yoghurt and strawberries and making a healthy snack for us.
I got the book and the tools!
Zoku is in the freezer getting ready to do its thing. I will let you know.
I am joining Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday. Please stop by and say hi to the other pinks.

Playing with Dishes…..
We are slowly but surely getting settled and organized. So many unfinished projects from last year (the year of the bad hip!) and so many projects I want to do this year.
I am very far behind in visiting and commenting but I will catch up. Please don’t forget about my giveaway (read my sidebar for more details). The embroidery machine will be exhausted before Christmas gets here!
This is the first of my Thanksgiving tables. I have not decided what my final table will look like so I am playing.
I started with chargers from Pottery Barn. The tablecloth was on sale at Williams Sonoma.
The mustard plates are also from Williams Sonoma. The amber wine glasses are antique and I have not been able to find out the name of the pattern or who made them. The smaller sherry glasses are made by Cambridge and the pattern is Aurora.
The red plates are Vietri. The napkins are by Bodum and were a gift along with the napkin holders.
I love the flatware. I bought this a couple of summers ago at Deb’s Flowerbed Farm in Maine. I tucked it in a a drawer and found it the other day. I believe it is made by Universal but I will have to do some more research.
The fruit compote and candlesticks are from Deb’s as well. The candles are made by Root and I buy them on Amazon.
I love the patterns in the compote. The faux fruit is from all over. I love salt cellars.
I am joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday. I love comments so don’t be shy! Look for more about my Holiday Giveaway in the next few days. And be sure to visit BNOP for more dishes on display.

Pink Saturday Rerun
I am still unpacking and getting organized in Florida so I decided to recycle a Pink Saturday from last fall. I am working on my giveaway so I hope you will leave a comment to be a participant! You can read more about my giveaway in my sidebar.
Well, it’s Pink Saturday at Beverly’s and I have just a small offering today. I saw this little pink vase at Deb’s Flowerbed Farm a couple of weeks ago. It was just sweet. I snapped some pictures of it before I even did Pink Saturday!
The vase is not terribly old but does have some age. There are no markings but it is hand painted. The hydrangeas pick up the pink.
The little flowers look like forget-me-nots. I can just see the vase being turned into a lamp for a little girl’s room.
Now let’s go and see what everyone else did for Pink Saturday!

Last Fall Tablescape and a Holiday Giveaway in the works…
We are now back in Florida and getting settled. It is a job….but I am almost done. I am having my first giveaway to celebrate 200 + posts. Look for the details in my sidebar which will be posted by the end of the day.
It was just the two of us the night before we left. We were packed – bags by the door.
I served dessert in Martini glasses that were included in a promotion from a vodka company.
I am joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday. Please stop by and see all the lovely tablescapes.
