The menu is planned and some of the gifts are wrapped. It is very early in the morning and the house is peaceful. This is my favorite time of the day. The lights are on on the tree and the coffee will be ready in a minute. Jack is still asleep but not for long and another day will start soon. We have errands to do. I remember my parents doing errands. They would take all day and I would just shake my head. Most likely we will be gone a good part of the day!
This time of the year brings back many memories of my childhood and growing up in a little town in New Jersey. As I set the table and decorate the house, I bring out many of the things that belonged to both my grandmother and my mother and I treasure them. You will see them on my Christmas table next week.
This year I have used many recipes from blogging friends. My dinner and dessert will be from 2 wonderful cooks who blog and share. I will write about these recipes next week as well. I wouldn't want to spoil any surprises!
The embroidery machine has been busy and the tea towels that are never to be touched are on display. Even the guest bathroom is ready.
Well, I have really rambled this morning. I need to get out of this chair and get that coffee. I am joining Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for another Pink Saturday. Be sure to stop in and see some wonderful Holiday posts.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Carol, I'm glad you're ready for Christmas. Your guest bath looks really pretty. We're going to be away for Christmas so I don't have to worry about dinner or clean bathrooms or house! I wish you a very happy and blessed Christmas. Hugs, Pamela
You made me laugh with the never to be touched story. I nearly murdered a brother-in-law for doing that one year. Ha!
You've done so well creating a beautiful Christmas for your family. Enjoy the treasured things and the far more treasured memories. So sweet.
Hope that you and Jack have a fun day out on your errands.
What is it about tea towels? I have some that cannot be touched, as well! Love your description of the quiet of early morning. It's my favorite time as well. I let the dogs out, start the coffee, and then sit down in my chair with a hot cup of coffee and my laptop. Ah.

Very Christmassy Carol, look forward to seeing the table and the recipes. Love Jackie in Surrey, UK.xx
Love the Carol and Jack Christmas figures!!
Lovely decorations! I have still a couple packages to mail and a few presents to wrap and one more to buy. And I still have my baking to do, but that will be fun for next week. Merry Christmas!
I could have written this post (at least the first part). I haven't really figured out Christmas dinner yet as we will have guests and I have to work a 6 hour shift that day.
It's nice to be pretty ready and then to just slow down and enjoy simple things, like doing errands.
Carol, I just LOVE this post, like a sweet morning visit with you.
the guest bath looks wonderful -- how charming. All ready for ME.
:-)
Love, Cass
Mornings sound wonderful at your house. I'd love to come over for coffee, of course, I wouldn't touch those cute tea towels!!
Everything is looking/sounding wonderful! I hope you have a lovely Christmas :)
You paint a beautiful word picture! The towels are beautiful. Happy Pink Saturday!

Happy Pink Saturday..xo Tami
It's great that you are finished decorating and sewing early and now will be able to sit back and wait for your Christmas guests. Best wishes for the holiday season!
For me, nothing can replace the memories of when I was younger at Christmas time. Just not the same anymore. Commercialized.
Happy pink saturday!

Good Morning Carol...just got a refill of my TexasJava and thought I'd return your visit before the start of my busy day. Love this post of getting into the day and sharing your special memories of Christmas' past. Isn't it wonderful to remember those special times with our parents and grandparents. I've been doing alot of that in the last few months with my Family Tree Genealogy doing's.
