Butterflies in the garden.....

I had two photography goals this summer. I wanted to take pictures of hummingbirds and butterflies. The hummingbirds have totally avoided my lens but yesterday the butterflies danced all over Deb's garden. We went to my favorite antique shop and there they were and I even had my camera. And the flowers were pink and perfect for Pink Saturday with Bev at How Sweet the Sound.

I have written before about Deb's Flowerbed Farm in Bridgton. Not only does she have wonderful "stuff", she has beautiful gardens around her lovely home. And she has butterflies. And she has dishes ....but more about the dishes next week!

We have more rain coming this weekend. Hopefully no more hurricane weather. I hope everyone has a safe holiday weekend!

Happy Pink Saturday!

These photos are really lovely. There has been a few butterflies on my bushes but by the time I get my camera there have flown away.

Hi Carole, we don't seem to of had many butterflies in our garden this year although we do have to Buddleja bushes, one blue and one white. I have seen the odd cabbage white and that is all.We certainly wouldn't get any humming birds round here if at all in the UK!

Great photographs, have a wonderful pink Saturday. Like you rain is forecast although we have a lovely sunny day today.Jackie in Surrey, UK.x

Lovely! I need to set some photography goals before I add lenses as I want to do. Of course, the lenses that I want are very expensive and deserve to be on a camera of someone who knows more about photography than I do at the moment!!

Best,
Bonnie

Beautiful photos, Carol! It's still hot and muggy here, so I'm becoming weary of summertime. In a few months, when it's dreary and cold, perhaps I'll remember to come back and see these colorful, happy images you've captured.

I was glad to hear that the storm didn't cause serious damage at your place.

Hope you have a nice weekend.

Warmest regards,
Bill

Loved your post. Unfortunately, I did have butterflies or hummingbirds here. I am sure the heat was just much for them.

Wonderful photos, Carol! Yes, we can do without the hurricanes! We suffered no damage to speak of from Irene so we got off easy. Happy Pink Saturday weekend.

Carol, that is gorgeous!
that final picture of the butterfly -- fabulous.
We have the "same" butterfly -- what kind is it? -- that visits our few paltry flowers every afternoon ... I have always wished I could get a picture of him, but they are so skittish. CONGRATS on capturing this so beautifully.
