Tablescape Thursday and more…..

New_size_125_tall
Susan at Between Naps on the Porch hosts Tablescape Thursday each week. If you have not seen her blog, you really must. She is truly the hostess with the mostess.
I am sitting in my chair in my soon to be completed studio/office/guest room. There seems to be some semblance of order in the room itself but the guest bathroom is off limits (no media) and shall be for a while. Susan Boyle is singing softly in the background and I have some Christmas music to play as well.
The embroidery machine has been busy. Tea towels and snowflakes are wonderful presents. I shall try to make one a day until Christmas. I use the snowflakes on the Christmas tree. I place them on the boughs just as if they had just landed.

I have quite a few different snowflake designs. Some I do in white and some in ivory. I like to mix them up. The days of the real tree are over. I don’t miss the needles until April but I do miss the wonderful smell. Our tree is a tabletop model and works quite well. I set it on a round table covered with a Christmas quilt made just for that purpose.

I decorated the Welsh cupboard and the coffee table.

A big glass jar holds some of the ornaments too large for the tree.

Then I started on the table. This setting is just the holiday setting. For Christmas Eve and Christmas Day there will be different ones. I haven’t decided what but it is still early……

So that’s what I have been doing. Now I have to go and say hi to all of you who have been stopping by and leaving wonderful comments while I had that bug. I will take some more pictures as well.

Hi Carol, so glad you visited. I love the snowflakes. I have some my sister made years ago. I don't do a big tree anymore. A skinny fake tree in the kitchen and a small white tree in the bay window of the family room and I like it just fine. :) Happy Wednesday. xo Lynn

Oh Carol! Breath taking pictures! What beautiful images -- so dreamy.

I am very intrigued by the snowflakes. Do you embroider them on tear-away or dissolving interfacing or other surface? They are GORGEOUS.

Beautiful pictures you've taken there. The snowflakes are something that my family would keep and hand down generation to generation. Please do a how to so we could make them too?

The snowflakes are embroidered on a dissolving material on my Babylock embroidery machine. I have a large hoop for this machine so I do 5 or 6 at a time. I cannot even imagine making them the old fashioned way!

Carol,
The snowflakes you create are just magical, how clever and the snowflakes falling on your blog are a delight too.
Today I decorated our sitting room tree, this year I decided to go with a white & silver theme.
Mr B thinks it's tasteful and elegant I'm thinking it needs something more, but I'll wait a few days before tweaking.

Carol, everything glows! Love the snowflakes you made. They add a beautiful touch to the green stems of the tree. Your table looks warm and inviting with the 12 Days of Christmas salad plates. Perfect color combinations with your linens. I'll be eager to see the table set for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. ~ Sarah

Hi Carol,
What a lovely post..Makes me forget I am sitting here surrounded by bins and boxes..overwhelming!

I love your snowflakes..I do my dining room tree with Battenburg lace angels..not as pretty as your works of art...

I have an embroidery machine..never out of the box. I am determined to learn this winter..
It is not a fancy one..a Brother...I need lessons, nowhere near here give them.
No sewing machine stores anymore!

Your pics are beautiful!
