This week I am joining Jain at Once in a Blue Moon for her new event beginning on January 16.
Food and reading are a perfect match. I love to read and primarily use my Kindle but every so often I come across a book I have to have in hard or soft cover. Tuscany for Beginners is such a book. Brits living in Tuscany rule the roost and believe that they are the true royalty of the region. Egos abound and the recipes are a travesty to good Italian cooking. The book is just amusing and a good belly laugh or two are contained between the covers.
Imogen Edwards-Jones captures the lives of her characters with great wit and understanding of human nature. I most likely would not try any of the recipes (particularly as the book progresses) but I have developed a fondness for Prosecco!
This a book about perception and reality. It is truly a good read. I keep a copy in my guest room and all who have read it have been truly amused. I hope you will enjoy it as well.

I must get that book! Thanks for stopping over. I think the January Blues have got me but I would never give up blogging! I think I should never say never though oops. Have a great weekend!
Love ya Meg
I think I would like that book!
I am noting it..WE already love Prosecco:)
this is so FUN for me, i am dashing right over to amazon to check this out, the cover alone has sold me! nice to see another kindle user, did you see how you can download your books onto your pc? i learned that from pam at sidewalk shoes, you can share up to 6 kindle/pcs on one account. i will miss having tangible books for food with thought, so far i am reading a gazillion library books, but free sounds a bit more enticing this year then handing over loads of hard earned cash to amazon!
wonderful kick off for food for thought, thanks so much for playing, i am off to check out your book!
I need that book! Thank you for the suggestion!
Hi Carol,
Thanks for the recommendation, Brits in Tuscany (aka Chiantishire )might make for very interesting reading.

Thanks for sharing this book. I'm adding it to my list. Great idea to keep on hand for your house guests copies of the books you enjoy. I need to update my guest room book shelves. Thanks for sharing. ~ Sarah
Oh, this sounds like such a fun book--and a fun project! Thanks for posting this.
I don't have a kindle. I still love turning pages and smelling the paper. Can you take a kindle in the bathtub?
You made this seem like a book that must be read. It sounds wonderful.
I keep hesitating on the kindle. I love the feel of the paper but I know so many that love theirs. Your idea is perhaps best... interesting sounding book.
Yes, I read that one - it's brilliant. Kindle - hmmm - I think I'd have to pass on that. I still prefer to print things off to read (can't stand looking at text on a computer for too long)
Re the blinkie - you are so welcome and I'm glad you are enjoying it!
Happy Pink Saturday.
Thanks for the book recommendation. I too am not sure of a Kindle. I love the feel and smell of a good book to read. Have a wonderful week.
