It’s good to get away sometimes…..

travel poster
This has not been the easiest of winters for me this year. Between the weather and the arthritis, the season has been uncomfortable. My guess is a new hip will be a priority when we get back to Maine. However, we did get away and that was a good thing. We went on a cruise with friends.
We cruised with Holland America on the Westerdam. The ports the ship visited were Grand Turk, San Juan, and St Maarten.

 vacation 033
I did not leave the ship which was fine. I had projects and books and my camera. I also had my computer and caught up on computer housekeeping! The ship was beautiful and the flower arrangements were gorgeous.

flowers and chocolate
We would have dessert and they would bring chocolates with coffee!

I was disappointed in the food in the dining room. However, the special restaurant on the ship was beyond outstanding and worth the extra money. We ate there 4 nights so we got to sample just about everything on their menu and we were not disappointed.

I will be linking some more mosaics of the cruise on Monday.

Beautiful photos. The cruise line ought to purchase them for their ads!

Wow, gorgeous photos, Carol! Beautiful. How lovely to get away for awhile. I'm sorry that arthritis is giving you trouble; it's such a terrible scrouge. I'm beginning to have problems with my hands, and one knee. You will be The Bionic Woman if you get a new hip!

The cruise looks wonderful. How nice you could just tuck yourself in and enjoy the surroundings while doing what you wanted to do. Will look forward to more photos. Sorry about the "A." I think that may be what I'm dealing with. ugh...

Carol, your photo mosaics are truly a work of art! We especially are enjoying the flowers surrounding the beautifully presented white heart shaped chocolates that were served after dinner with a cafe. Can't wait to see more!

Oh how wonderful! We took a cruise and visited two of the places your mentioned, San Juan, and St Maarten. Beautiful places, but I know even if you don't get off the ship, you can have a marvelous time! We have always cruised on Celebrity and really enjoy them! The food has been excellent except for the last cruise to Alaska and it did not compare to the other two. Wonder if it has something to do with the economy and cutting back?
