Pink Saturday

Time to join Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for another Pink Saturday.

 bijw9y

My friend Jackie in the UK introduced me to Virtual Painter and I am enthralled with it. The tulips in my header were at the market in a bucket and look at them now. The artist in me (with the help of this program) is painting! Here are some more tulip creations. Below is the original photo.

I am using the names of VP’s filters and below is Fauvist. You can read about Fauvism here.

Below is the painting in Gouache and you can read about this painting style here.

Next is embroidery which we know is painting with thread.

Watercolors are a favorite of mine.

The tulips are wonderful in oil as well.

The next technique is Impasto and you can read about this technique here.

And finally some silk screened tulips.

I visited Sharon at fiberdoodles. Her blog is crisp and pretty. Stop by if you have a chance.

Happy Pink Saturday!

Hi Carol, see you've been a busy lady while in Florida and cruising to fun places. Your 'paintings' of the tulips are just lovely.

Maine must be calling now - my DH was in Orlando this week and noticed many 'snowbirds' at the airport! Hope you're looking forward to returning North...............Maine is so perfect in Summertime.

I have a new blog now - A BREATH OF FRESH AIR and hope you stop by. (I can no longer post pics on ACROSS THE POND - Google/Picasa have problems and really messed up my storage a/c).

Hugs - Mary

My father used to paint cathedrals and at a late age in life I discovered I could paint. But with computer graphics, I think I would have a field day. You will have to stay in touch and tell me more about this so that I purchase the right program. I love art history and how with one photo you can encompass many different styles of painting. Amazing! Please stay in touch often. Do you sell your work?
