A Little Away Time….

 Lily and rose

We got away for a little while and had a vacation from our everyday chores and I got away from the computer for a few days. I did have it with me but no internet to speak of….I played with some of the programs like Virtual Painter and Photoscape.

I continued to declutter and organize and attacked Picasa with a vengeance. I labeled and combined folders in an effort to make more sense of of my files and to rid the files of poor pictures.

We like a cruise for several reasons. Jack and I don’t have to cook or clean up! We don’t have to grocery shop or even make the bed! The downside is that the food is too good….but the dishes are pretty. We are glad to be home and looking forward to getting back to our routine.

 Food Collage

I am joining Mary at Little Red House for Mosaic Monday.

The Lotus Blossom is collaged with a photo of a shipboard column and then with an orchid with the patterned rug as a background.

Hi Carol,
Wonderful mosaics my dear, very clever indeed.
Cruise food is wonderful but I agree there is always too much of it, still what are vacations for if not to indulge ourselves just a little bit?

So glad you had a nice getaway. The photos are lovely. What, exactly, is the program you use? I'm still just using Iphoto which came on the Mac.

Best,
Bonnie

Welcome back and wonderful mosaics. Like your family history bits--such lovely handwriting many of them had back then. They actually learned how in school, unlike today I guess. We're all typing anyway, but there's a richness in a hand written note and enjoying the penmanship!

Welcome back, Carol! It looks as if you had a wonderful time on the cruise. What a good idea to bring the computer and work on "in house" projects -- brilliant!

Your mosaics are gorgeous. You really do take some amazing pictures. You have mad skills, ma'am!

Carol, I am so glad you commented on my blog. Somehow I had lost you in the many, many blogs I read daily. Glad the connection is made again. I have decided that you are the neighbor I never had. Oh my...what you could teach me about quilting (I have dabbled) and knitting (have knit for years but have lost confidence) and then...you just seem like such a nice person. How I wish I could be at the lunch with you in Sarasota today!! Enjoy. Susan
