Taking a little break

I will be taking a few days off while we travel north and get settled in the little cabin by the lake. I am surrounded by boxes, lists of "do not forgets",  lists of things that must be done before we leave,  and a dust rag and a vacuum. Jack has undecorated the lanai and will install the clear hurricane shutters on the sliders (a job that requires a special vocabulary not suitable for small children). Tomorrow we will ship boxes as we fly and don't check luggage. This transition is time consuming and seems to take longer each year. However, once we are settled the summer will be very relaxing.

The cabin is small and this picture is taken from the beach. I will have to take more pictures this summer. This is the view.

Below is a slideshow of some of my "stuff". I have been playing with slideshows and movies. See you next week about this time.

Have a great journey to the cabin, do you hire a car to get around in when you get there? Love to you both, Jackie in Surrey, UK.

Wishing your hubby all the best with that nasty project ahead. Oh your cottage is sweet and dear and the view priceless. Yes, come home, come home. It's been wonderful for a few days. ☺ We are expecting, I'm not really, but Roger Griswald is, a small tornado today. Sigh. If it's not one thing 'tis another. Happy flying!

Hi Carol,
I saw your blog listing on Mockingbird Hill Cottage and decided to visit you. I used to live in Florida but now live in the Northwest near Seattle. I have never been to Maine but it is a place my Mother always wanted to go. They say that our area is very similar in some ways. I enjoyed visiting your blog today and look forward to reading more. Have a beautiful day! xoxo Kim

This reminded me of the second Sarah Plain and Tall movie where she goes to visit ''The Aunts" during the drought - going to their place by the water - lovely!
Hope you have a good and safe trip - see you next week,
Kathy
