In with the old and out with the new....

I know that seems backwards but we are loving older items that have been cherished and made in America. I admit to my compulsive behavior regarding dishes so when I saw these at Deb's, I was a goner. I thought they would be perfect for Jack's house. He said no but this is a picture of unpacking dishes at his house.
The dishes below have been packed up and will go to a good home.

My mother had a set of dishes called Brown Drip and these remind me of them but the inside is a lovely teal/aqua/turquoisy color.

So I had to set the table. And take pictures.

The name of the pattern is Country Fare. It was manufactured in the 1950's by Louisville Pottery. Some is stoneware and some is pottery. Redwing Pottery made some of the pieces as well.

Now I have to cook something!

That is a very pretty set. I'm a goner for blues and browns in combination.

Hadn't even thought of the Fryeburg Fair until you mentioned it. This is our off year. We go in even years only. ☺ No, we are not fair die-hards, but we do enjoy visiting often enough so that we don't forget.

Summer has flown! By the time you head for Florida, you'll be ready for the warmer temps, I'm sure. October on the lake can be chilly.

Your "new" dishes are wonderful. I have been thinking I need a new set and I'll have to start going to antique shops and garage sales to find what i want.
I have dishes made in Russia, Venezuela and England in my daily dish cupboard but I don't want to see Made in China stamped on the bottom of my "new" set. Congratulations on a great find!

Carol, I see easily why you loved these new dishes. They aren't too feminine, yet the aqua inside does wonders for them and makes me smile! Lovely! Good eye!

I've been wanting to do our bedroom in aqua and brown for a few years now. Every time I see these colors I'm a goner too HA!! Love the copper with these dishes (in your second photo)! New/old dishes - what fun!!

How interesting to see such modern colors on vintage things. Whats old is new again, huh?

Be careful about putting them in a microwave...I bet they'll get scalding HOT!

hugs,
Rett
