New words to live by......

Someone once said, "There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living." Being alive is a gift, being happy is by choice.....
As we come to the end of the summer and get ready to head back to Florida, us "beach people" have a gathering at Jack's house in town.
Last summer was the year of the hip for me. This summer others had health issues which were quite serious. We look forward a healthy season next year. We celebrated with some food and drink.
The words were posted on Facebook.
Have a wonderful week!

Isn't this just the truth... drama just has no place in our lives after a certain coming of age in our 50's and 60's. It's simply time to enjoy each day for what it is and find happiness therein. :-)

Oh yes. Life's too short for too much drama and for friends who are overly negative. Here, here! And here's to a healthy year ahead.

Such good advice if only we can let the drama go. What a lovely tradition to carry on...a meal with the lake people as summer winds down. Don't go too soon now...

What a delightful and apt quote. Joe and I choose happiness every day despite the fact others have rejected us. I am so glad you have had a better year. hugs♥Olive

Beautiful words, thank you!

I'll agree to that. I can now let it go in one ear and out the other. That's the benefit of "age!" I've got to talk hubby into FL winters!!!

It looks like the food was delicious. Hopefully everyone will be healthy next year.
I completely agree with the words in the beginning of your post ~life is too short to be surrounded by that. I started weeding those folks out of my life several years ago and it's been one of the best things I've ever done. Thanks so much for coming by to visit my shop. I did a little sprucing up at both of my blogs, if you get a chance to stop by sometime. :)

Good Friends + Good Food = Good Times!

Sounds like you had it all.

See if you can get the recipe for that bruschetta with the pistachio nuts on it, will ya???? It looks delicious!

Hoping we get to see you down south in Feb.
Safe travels,
fondly,
Rett
