Another road trip....

Last weekend we went to Arcadia again. This little Florida town is full of antique/stuff shops - sort of something for everyone. Arcadia is a combination of Old Florida and the old Wild West.

We went into most of the shops. I am only looking for certain things as space is becoming a problem.

I love dishes and glassware but I really do have enough.....I think.....

McCoy pottery calls my name and I love old silverplate flatware serving pieces.

Then it was time for lunch.

We had a light lunch....

Another fun day. I found a small McCoy vase and 4 soup/gumbo spoons.

Haven't felt too good this week, so the sight of food..... The shops look great, I am only buying everyday needs as we have too much all ready and I don't like too many "dust collectors", plus our display areas are taken up with photographs of Harry!!

Have you had an email from Picnik saying you will get a refund soon? I only renewed my membership at the beginning of the New Year. It will be interesting to see what will happen now, whether for better or worse!!

Road trips are so much fun. Arcadia sounds like just the place to get away from it all! A girl can never have too many dishes!!!!! :D :D :D Looks like a *light* lunch to me!!!

You're so right about Arcadia! (Horses$#& and gunsmoke! lol) I like your idea of a "light lunch", too! Looks like you found some really cool places to visit. We should take that trip together sometime.

I'll try to get up to the yarn shop on Friday to see you and everybody.

See you soon.

Oh that's fun...we're looking for the same things...McCoy pottery and soup spoons. I have two (just two) soup spoons that I love. I want more in their particular shape, which is more bowl-like and not so oval. I do not enjoy oval soup spoons. Loved your "light lunch." That's something that I could really enjoy!

Nothing like a good root through antique shops.

Phooey! All the years I live in FL, I always wanted to go to Arcadia...never made it. Next year, for sure!

Can't wait to see your new purchases put into use.

Now, may I have a piece of that luscious CAKE???

Hugs,
Rett

hi Carol, Looks like our kind of day! And love eating at those little old fashioned lunch places. I think we should try Arcadia next time we come that way. I always like to have some small thing I am searching for when I visit antique or charity shops!

How fun to be in Florida for the winter. You sure found a fun place to spend the day. Loved all the pics of the antique shop. The Food pics, too!

Love the McCoy pottery. I use to collect the Cookie Jars...sold them all but one FAV! Now I have a few small pieces...space thing! Glad you found some flatware!

Also glad to hear you found a local Knit Shop and are knitting with a group. So much fun and inspiring! Will look forward to seeing your knit stuff...enjoy!

I look for McCoy pottery (for me) too. I recently found a large green urn with a bird on it for ten dollars at a flea. It was cheap because it has a weak chip in the lip if it but it is not broken yet. It is always a good day when one finds a McCoy as you did.

Looks like a fun trip!
It is hard to find soup spoons with a round bowl.
You " think" you have enough dishes, lol!
