It's a mystery.....

I have been knitting quite a bit. I will be a great aunt in March so of course there is baby knitting but there are also some projects that I am working on and trying to finish. I spend one day a week at the knitting store and would like to do two but appointments keep getting in the way. Maybe next week.

I am stringing beads for a scarf. I do this when the light is good - very tedious but I like the bling of it with a black dress.

And then I started the Mystery Knit. I have no idea what it will be except big. And there is pink in it! Each week a set of directions are sent by email. I just completed week two.

There is pink, purple, fuschia, coral, orange, olive, and red and more as the yarn self stripes for an interesting effect.

I have all this left!
And of course I don't know what it is because it's a mystery! I shall keep you posted. Now back to that baby blanket.

I am joining Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for another Pink Saturday. Why not stop by and say hi?

That's a fun project...a week's worth of instructions arriving and you have no idea what it'll be. Very intriguing indeed. It does look as if it will be wonderful.

Your mystery project is beautiful. I love all the colors of the yarn. I'm learning to crochet and can't wait to learn enough to start a project.

When you have multicolored yarn like that it's also a bit of a mystery to see how the colors will play out. I think a mystery knitting project sounds like a lot of fun. Be sure to show what it ends up being! I suppose you will be able to guess before long.

I love the colours of that yarn - it's simply gorgeous...no knitting store here. i should find a fleece and use my spinning wheel again or better yet a knitting store next time I go to the city. i'd love to have a project now. It will be fun to see your mystery evolve.

Oh Carol...this so makes me want to knit. What pretty yarn with all the colors! Mystery knits are fun...I've only done a few and it's exciting to finish one part and then wait for the email. You are doing such a neat job.

You are much more patient with the bead stringing than I am. My solution to add beads in knitting is to knit them as I go. I do this with a crochet hook. A pretty neat technique.

Enjoy your knitting!

Love the colors in that fabulous yarn -- is it Noro? I've been having the most frustrating weekend, trying desperately to find the tiny tote where I stashed my unfinished socks (first I lost the pattern; then I found it, but I'm stuck at the heel!). Seeing this makes me ready to jump into the stash and find something else this cold night!

Your knitting is lovely, Carol. I love the colors you've chosen. I'm not knitting, but I am crocheting for the Etsy shop (whenever I get it open!)

Carol,

I love your knitting. I am an avid knitter too. The mystery knitting is so interesting. I'll have to look into that. I would love to see your scarf when you finish it. I haven't knitted with beads yet. I bought a book of patterns with beads, but I haven't done it yet. You are inspiring me to give it a try.

Happy Pink Saturday!
Terry
