I saw this idea on a blog and although I believe I bookmarked it, sadly I cannot find it. So, thank you somebody. I have had this shadow box for a long time - just sitting on a shelf. One day while just reading blogs, a woman had cut out lots of hearts and was was folding them and attaching them to a bag. So in the spirit of using up "stuff" I already have, I punched out a bunch of hearts with a heart punch that was still in the box. Because glue was involved I lined the box with card stock (from the shelf of paper).
The hearts were folded in half to create a little dimension and glued in place.
I will display this for Valentine's Day and then perhaps make another display for Mother's Day.
As Martha would say, "It's a good thing!" And I didn't go to the store!

Hi Carol, Hope all is well. I love to use up stuff from around the house. Fabulous idea and it looks great. It will brighten up any room. Jen.
Love using up stuff--looks great!
Very sweet in its simplicity! It looks fabulous, too.

What a great idea!
Yes...Hearts for Valentines...always a Good Thing! I saw a pattern for felted hearts that were kind of puffy. They would be cute as well. I love the idea of using what you have...even if it means getting out the glue gun...I might have taken the double sided tape shortcut. Thanks for stopping by CITexasGal for SuKnitWitty's Knitting Post. When I finally finish something and get a chance to do the Bind Off Stitch...I'll be sure and give you a ShoutOut...don't hold your breath, tho...LOL!!!
Great project! I like the chosen patterns/colors.
I think your hearts shadow box is beautiful, I love how something so stylish could be put together so easily.
Carol,
Love it! I would leave the hearts ... I love them all year long :)
Hugs,
Donna
What a clever project! Folding the hearts makes them more interesting than if they were flat. You can really learn a lot from blogs!
That's very cute! I've been looking for shadow boxes and have had a hard time finding them?
A lovely idea.
