I love to get away for a bit but I am also so glad to get home. We were wined and dined on our cruise and did not have to lift a finger. Decisions were just about what to order off the menu or what to choose from the buffet. I know....sounds hard to take....but we are really homebodies. Part of the excitement of traveling is the food and the presentation of the food. However, the ideas I get now from fellow bloggers are just as wonderful. Martha from Lines from Linderhof was helpful as she shared her Panama Canal trip. Her leisurely Saturday Breakfast was just what we needed for our Sunday Breakfast this week. You can visit her here. Thank you, Martha. Anna Pump's recipe for Baked Eggs can be found here in an article about weekend entertaining.
I lightly buttered the ramekins and dusted them with grated Parmesan cheese. I used milk instead of the cream and then the eggs, more Parm and some salt and pepper. They cooked at 400 degrees for exactly 16 minutes and were perfect.
Fresh orange juice and an English muffin were the perfect companions. We used a dollop of caviar on top but I think until the budget will allow for "good" caviar I shall omit this step next time.
Jack watched Meet the Press and I caught up on paperwork and email. A lovely day!
Hope you have a wonderful week!

Thanks for the mention. Glad you enjoyed the cruise -- it is nice to be waited on, isn't it!!!! Your eggs look really good and your pictures are better than mine! And English muffin would be the better choice -- I just had toast!
I have a link to C-span that I'm watching with the same Meet the Press guest. I think.
Those eggs looks wonderfully delicious. I understand what you mean about being home. Getting away is nice and being home again is that much better. It just goes to show what a lovely, comfortable home you've created.
I love baked eggs. There's no place like home! :D :D
That sounds like a REAL vacation ---total rest! But I'm a homebody like you. It's nice to travel, but it makes you appreciate home all the more!
I have never had baked eggs so will have to try that, Phil isn't too keen on Parmesan cheese though. Jackie in Surrey, UK.
I enjoyed reading your cruise post and will look forward to seeing the slide show. It's always good to be back home - I agree!
Welcome back, good to have you back in the blogsphere after what sounds like a wonderful trip.
Carol, those roses are gorgeous! I love the delicate color of them. And the eggs sound and look fantastic. It sounds like you had a great cruise!
I love to travel and always love to come back home to my own bed. I have never taken a cruise and can't wait to try it. It all sounds so relaxing and delicious.
