A little pink here and there.....

I am a lover of vintage pottery and seem to have gathered quite a bit of it over the years. This piece has the look of Majolica so I have displayed it with some of that I have collected over the years.

The colors of the Majolica can be dark but there always seems to be a touch of brightness.

We head back to Maine very soon. I always have mixed emotions. I have had such a good time this year with my friends. We have "antiqued" with some and I have knit with others. We have traveled and cooked and it has been fun. Two of our friends from Maine have moved back to Florida and they will be missed in Maine.

I have collected a bit of McCoy over the last few years. I also like Hull and Weller. Actually I like most vintage pottery.

I am joining Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday as it enters its fifth year. I hope you will stop by and say hello.

Happy Pink Saturday!

I love your collection! I'm with you - I love most vintage pottery. It's a sickness, isn't it? It's also hard for me to resist anything that has a bird - whether free-standing or part of the design.

What a beautiful collection, Carol. I'm sorry to have missed you this season, but will be sure that we spend some time together when you and Jack return.

You've created some truly beautiful things during your time in Florida this year. I'm in awe of the knitted items you finished.

Safe travels, my friend.

I too love the look of McCoy pottery. It's so useful and a very easy look to live with on a daily basis. :-))

Hi Carol, I am not into collecting now, I like minimalism as much as possible, but with Phil that is impossible!! It is lovely that people do have things they collect and have places to display them.

Have a safe journey and speak very soon. Jackie in Surrey, UK.x

PS I see you have changed your photograph again, you look very different .

Oh how exciting! You and I have the same piece...the last. It was my grandmother's. I really like it and must dig it out now that summer is closer.

Funny how the folks split between ME and FL...some go and never return and some return and never go back. It's good that you are still able to enjoy both worlds, though I'm sure that you'll find this one a bit cool just now.

Hello Carol - I do enjoy visiting your blog. It must be difficult to share your year between two states and yet wonderful as well. I think the emotions of saying goodbye to new and old friends would be hard...but at least you know you will see them again in the not too distant future. I think i would love being away for the winter in a warmer climate. I'm dreaming of a vacation home to see my family and hopefully that will happen this summer - sooner rather than later. It's difficult to make plans until this year's crop is in the ground. Your pottery collection is lovely and I can see why you enjoy those visits to antique stores. Maybe you will find some small treasures in Maine to add to your friends collections.

Hello Carol, It's nice to see your lovely blog! You always have something pretty to share. Looks like we will both be celebrating a 9th wedding anniversary this year! Pottery is the traditional gift for nine years. Hmmm, majolica would be nice for me...how about you?
