Lazy Summer Days

It has been hot. And we are quite lazy. Whatever needs to get done is done early and we then sit on the porch of the cabin and wait for a breeze. Sometimes we wait all day!

Suppers have been simple - very often a cold plate. The other night we did grill chicken thighs and they were wonderful. You can find the recipe here

I love the counters in the cabin - red linoleum!

Very good dinner with leftovers for another meal. We served the chicken with farm fresh corn on the cob and sliced tomatoes.

I still have limited internet but please know that I appreciate my followers old and new and I love comments. I shall be a better follower when I get back to Florida.

Have a wonderful week!

I think whatever the weather, it is good to get jobs done in the morning and then enjoy the day and evening!!

We are having a fairly relaxing weekend after our day out at the seaside with Harry on Friday on my birthday. Weather is mixed here but the Olympics are so exciting. It was ideal weather for the Ladies Marathon runners.Waiting to see who wins the golds at the Tennis and to see Usain Bolt run tonight. It makes me tired just watching them all...................

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a good week with plenty of R&R, love Jackie.x

Hi Carol, I envy your lazy summer days! I was just telling Sall this morning how it's rather over-whelming these days. We have a wheelbarrow full of sweet corn ready to freeze up, and a counter full of tomatoes, the potatoes need to be dug up. My canning kitchen is full of onions drying, ughhh and the list goes on! Could you please put your feet up for me for about an hour or so! Glad you popped up on my reader this morning, I've missed you!

Hope that you're not headed back to Florida too soon. The weather will cool a bit and the breeze will blow.

Lovely simple suppers at the lake. Can't ask for anything better. Time slows down at the lake without good internet access and not too many pressing chores.

Lovely photos...

Hope you are enjoying your time at the cabin. It will be fall before we know. Relax and enjoy!!

Your relaxing days sound perfect and pretty much reflects our life in Normandy, too.
Read any good books recently? I've a new Mary Kay Andrews I could mail to Maine if you'd like.

Simple summer summers are made all the nicer with the addition of edible flowers. I think it's time to get creative with my cooking this week - I'm thinking low calorie - after a few weeks of gatherings and celebrations!

Hot hot hot here as well. I also tend to do the chores early and then try to do as little as possible until after dark when we can venture out :)
