Glad to be home......

We have been on a cruise and it is good to be home. This year's cruise was not as relaxing as they have been in the past. Paying more and getting less seems to be the norm in many industries. While our accommodations were lovely, we were disappointed in some areas. And Jack became wheel chair bound after somehow twisting his knee. He was disappointed that he could not go to some of the ports and I was disappointed that he was disappointed.

The ship was beautiful. The lighting and glass created spectacular effects.

The color of the Caribbean is unlike any other I have ever seen.

And the food.....And we didn't have to shop for it, cook it, or clean up the kitchen.

Room service was quite wonderful when Jack was in the wheel chair.

Our favorite was the grilled Coho salmon on wasabi mashed potatoes with asparagus in a sesame ginger sauce. I shall try to recreate this very soon.

And then there is my knitting. With no chores (except pushing Jack!), there was lots of knitting time. I like the Crow's Nest on Holland America. A chair with an ottoman, my iPad, water and my knitting bag was all I needed for a lovely morning.

And the view was lovely.

As I said in the beginning, it is good to be home.

Carol, hope Jack is doing better with his knee. I am glad you enjoyed your cruise and the perfect knit in public setting. It is always nice to be back home.

Hi Carol... I wondered where you had been! So glad you got to go on a cruise, but I am sorry about Jack's knee. Hope it is getting better. Mine finally is!

I am assuming your hands are better from the allergy as you mentioned having your knitting with you. That is good news!

Glad you are safely ashore! And you are so correct in stating that there is nothing like the water in the Caribbean. It is glorious!

I'm sorry you were a bit disappointed in your cruise, Carol and that Jack injured his knee. That would certainly put a damper on things. It still looks lovely on the ship though with delicious food and that gorgeous blue water. I hope Jack's knee is feeling better.

welcome home! I hope Jack's knee is much much better. Sorry you were disappointed, but looks like you had moments that were very very good. Do you cruise every year?

So that's where you've been! It certainly looks wonderful, but I'm sorry that the trip was marred by Jack's getting hurt. Hope that he is on the mend now.

The wasabi mashes potatoes and salmon sound delicious. It's nice to get away and just as nice to get home!

Well, this post explains a lot! I am so sorry to hear that Jack buggered up his knee...sure hope it will heal without needing surgery. I've had 3 friends undergo TKR this past year. I hope I NEVER need one!!

The cruise looks lovely & I concur about the color of the water there. My favorite shade in all the world!

Hoping you both feel better soon.
Hugs,
Rett
