Well, Thanksgiving is here and the table is finally set.  I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends. This is a special time of year and may we not lose the meaning of the season.

I made Gram Potter’s date bread and dreamt of date nut and cream cheese sandwiches all night. However, it is safely in the freezer until Thursday!

I chose my wedding silver because of the serving pieces. And I didn’t have to polish everything!

L1010855

The centerpiece is an older piece of Fenton glass “iridized”. The flowers are dried from a potpourri mix. I can’t have too big a centerpiece without an extra leaf in the table.

The cut glass bowl belonged to my grandmother and would be filled with black olives, pickled watermelon rind and celery stuffed with Kraft Roka Blue cheese – the kind that came in the little juice glasses. I’m not sure they even make that anymore because I have not seen it in ages. My mother soon stopped asking me to help…one for me – one for the relish tray – one for me……

The little salt spoons match my silver and are the perfect size for these salt cellars.

I do not know anything about these wine glasses. We found them at Deb’s Flowerbed Farm in Bridgton, Maine 4 or 5 years ago. If anyone has any suggestions I would be happy to hear them.

My tablecloth is from Williams Sonoma as are the napkins.

The napkin rings from Pottery Barn a couple years ago.

Chargers from TJ Max

The acorn transfer ware from Williams Sonoma

The mint green salad plates from Home Goods

Flatware Homewood by Stieff

Wine glasses from Deb’s a few years back and don’t know anything about them

Candlesticks -Pottery Barn

Centerpiece bowl – Fenton Glass

Cut glass relish tray from Gram Potter

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Carol, I adore your table! I'm crazy about the transferware (I thought it was antique!), and I love those glasses you found at Deb's! Your linens are pretty, too, and Williams Sonoma is a favorite place for me. Steiff of course speaks for itself... love it! And I have a little collection of salts I love, too. I had an ancestor (or it is believed he was an ancestor) who was a jester, and I found little sterling jester spoons on eBay. I have normal little spoons, too, but I couldn't resist the others. ;-) I'll share them at some point.

I really like your napkin rings, and at first, I thought you had used some vintage costume jewelry to adorn those... how neat they are! I never would have guessed Pottery Barn which I think of as having less bling. I would have thought they came from Anthropoligie. Either way, they are so neat!

I think that is special that you have your grandmother's cut glass relish dish on the table... and how funny about the one for me, one for the dish. LOL! ;-)

Like you, I used my wedding silver (Chantilly)for my Thursday tablescape. It was also my mother's pattern. I used my wedding china which is very simple, and I punched it up with accent plates. I have loved having it for no other reason that I can change my salad plates and have a completely different look for things. If I do more tablescapes with it, you all might be bored! :-)

Sending you much love across the miles to Maine for a very Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Tablescape Thursday...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hi Carol...

Just wanted to stop by to say thank you for leaving me such a sweet note...and you mentioned that you had a Thanksgiving tablescape...so I just had to come and see!

My friend, your Thanksgiving table is absolutely gorgeous!!! Of course, the brown transferware dishes just stole my heart from the "get-go"! Hehe! I have red transferware...and olive green transferware but no brown and I just love it!!! Ohhh...and I love, love, LOVE those beautiful goblets! I have never seen any like them before so I can't be of much help...but they are so beautiful...what a treasure find! Also...I just have to say something about those pretty napkin rings...they are simply gorgeous! At first, I thought they might be brooches.

My friend, your table is lovely! Sending you and your family my very best wishes and blessings for a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

Warmest wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design

PS...I finally got my Thanksgiving tablescape posted as well. I know it's a busy time but when you get through the holiday...stop by!

Hi there - just admiring your tablescape which is really lovely. About the relish dishes - I see them here in England all the time. They sometimes can't even give them away - isn't that strange?! Anyway, if you would like some, please drop by my blog and let me know as I'd be only too happy to help. Enjoy your Thanksgiving and God bless you :o)
