Shopping and lunch….

Every month or so we take a trip to St. Pete to go to the Italian Market, a few antique shops and our favorite restaurant. That is what we did last Saturday. First stop was Mazzaro’s. You can see more pictures here.

The prepared food case was tempting – especially this asparagus.

I could spend hours in the wine and cheese part of the market.

So we bought some 5 cheese raviolis, some bread and olive oil and packed everything in the cool bag and went to some antique shops. I’ll show you what I bought in another post.
Then we went out to lunch. We go to Savannah’s when we are in St. Pete. It is probably one of my favorite places to have lunch. There are others but I like the ambiance there and the service is excellent. We were early so I could take pictures and not annoy the other customers. We always start with their Mint Julep Ice Tea.

How could you walk pass those delicious fattening sweet desserts!!!!

It looks a great restaurant and I think once you know a place is good, fresh food, good service it is worth going back again as you cannot go wrong.

Great photographs and I love your new blog header

Have a lovely weekend, Jackie.

It's been so many years since I've been to St. Pete, and this makes me want to go back. I've never been to either of those places, Carol, but WOW! I'm putting them on my list of places I want to go. There's an antique mall or two that used to be there that I loved. Not sure if they still are or not. Have you ever been to Ted Peter's for smoked mullet? It's a dive, but we used to go with a group of friends who all enjoyed it.

We've got rain here today, so I'm in for the morning. It is just pouring as I type, but we need it. Hope things are nice there.

XO,

Sheila :-)

Oh wow what a treat, I needed to get away from my mundane snowy scene for a bit...you did me a great favor! Oh my, those desserts are a work of art, I couldn't resist one of those, I admire your will power! I'm going to go back and take another look and then another and another.

Hi Carol, these food photos are tempting me--not good for my resolutions! The buttermilk fried chicken and sweet potato fries are especially yummy looking! I just came back from Maine and they have enormous amounts of snow. Hope it is warmer where you are in Florida! Linda

Looked like a fun day! And I'd love the mint julep tea!!! I would have brought home one of the desserts, however -- they looked too good to pass up!
