Red around the house….

 L1060459
For the longest time I have said that I don’t have red in my house, that it doesn’t go…... Wrong. I have lots of red stuff scattered about including my computer, the mouse and my cell phone cases. I have an espresso machine that is red. I love a latte first thing in the morning. So I am joining Sue for REDnesday today for the first time.

There are roses on the table.

There is a hibiscus tree right outside the door.

Love the Baggallini pocketbook! Lots and lots of pockets and lightweight.

My Kindle has a red cover.

And Jack made Mrs. Bennett’s sauce and that is red. He made it in the red Le Creuset. I didn’t take pictures! You can print the recipe here.
Mrs. Bennett’s Sauce

1 cup water
2 cans tomato soup
2 T. Worcestershire Sauce
2 T cider vinegar
1 t chili powder
2 bay leaves
1 can tomato paste
15 oz. Hunt’s tomato sauce
1 garlic clove, minced
1 package mushrooms
I medium yellow onion chopped fine
1 lb. hamburg browned and drained
1 Italian finger pepper chopped fine
a good pinch of oregano
pinch of salt
Sauté onions, mushrooms and garlic in 2 T olive oil. Add everything else to Dutch oven and simmer until thick about 3 hours. After 2 hours add a good glug of red wine. Make the day before. Enjoy.
I am experimenting with the print recipe feature. I would appreciate any feedback – like did it work???

It is surprising to learn how much of a color that may not be a favorite we have around. I'm sure that you've read that every room needs a pop of red. Looks as if you're doing very well; I know that I am. That sauce sounds delish!

It is funny how we find things around the house when we are participating in a meme. You did really good with the red.

I believe I must have some red around here as well. I'm going to have a look. I am coveting your espresso machine as it looks like a manageable size for my small kitchen.

Best,
Bonnie

Hi Carol, I don't think I have much red around the house, quite a bit terracotta though. I only ever wear a red jacket I don't have any other red clothes!!
Love the hibiscus, even in the garden I go more for white and pink flowers!!

Have a good day, Jackie in Surrey, UK.

Hi Carol!

The print recipe link worked great for me!! Thanks for sharing!

You KNOW I like red...I must own at least 4 different shades of red lipstick & at least 6 jackets in various shades.

Love all your photos & the new header, too!

I'm finally getting a blog post up shortly. Its taken me forever to get back in the groove. Dark skies, cold rain & even some snow don't help the mood much. Hurry up, Spring!!

fondly,
Rett

I see that you have a Nespresso expresso maker too, Carol. Aren't they great? I love mine too. I also like the convenience of the frother, so easy to use. Love that Baggalinni bag too, looks great for traveling, it looks light....Christine
