At times like this....

These past two weeks have brought some sadness. We had to say goodbye to my son's dog Minnie (aka Mintie Girl and Bat girl). It was time and the decision had to be made. She was 15 and had a good life. She will be missed terribly. My son is heartbroken. I am too.

While I was having lunch with my friend Donna at Brynwood Needleworks, her dog Fezzik (many of you know him) was having "manhood" surgery and he died of complications on Friday. He was just a pup. My friend is heartbroken. I am heartbroken for her.
Many of you know Donna. She is a warm and wonderful woman with an outstanding sense of humor.

This post is for families, friends and good dogs. I will be back the first of the week.

Hi Carol, that makes me sad too. Dogs are such good companions and even though I've never experienced the loss of one yet, I do know that day will come with ours and I know the attachment feelings we have with these sweet creatures. Have a peaceful weekend. Blessings, Pamela

Our furbabies nuzzle their way into our hearts and it is just as if we have lost family when we lose them. (My sister's cat died during surgery. He was less than a year old. It came as a terrible shock. You just don't hear about these things too often thank goodness.)

Carol, I feel so bad for your friend and your son. My family are all such dog lovers we certainly understand the pain everyone is going through right now with their fur baby losses. Bless their hearts.

Carol: So sorry to hear about your son's sweet dog. We've known the sadness of losing two precious dalmatians. Even though they had a good and long life, it was still very painful. I like to believe the legend of "The Rainbow Bridge".

Best,
Bonnie

Oh, so sad, especially when they are young and it's unexpected! ...and perhaps even more so when they've been such a part of our lives for so long.

Hi Carol, I am still in shock from reading about Fez. Those furry friends do become part of the household and you feel lost when you lose them. I know when we lost our last pet, I told the kids not to get mom another one, I just didn't have the strength to deal with a sick spouse and take care of another pet. I feel for all of the people who loses a pet because it is like losing part of the family. Enjoy if you can the rest of the weekend. Your Missouri Friend.

Oh my gosh, Carol....I could just cry...for Donna & your son, too! How awful!!
What a week of sadness this has been, with the horrid tornadoes in the south & all that loss. Ugh!

Consider yourself {{HUGS}}
I'm rushing over to Donna's right now. Thanks for letting us know.

I wondered what type of surgery he was having. Poor Donna. I know she and your son both are truly heartbroken.
