The nights are cooler on the lake and when I got up very early this morning I noticed the mist on the lake. This is a sure sign that summer will soon be over. Time seems to move very quickly as I get older. We took our weekly trip to North Conway for groceries and then a stop at Sherman Farms for corn and a few other items. The farm grows flowers as well and it was a good day to photograph some of them. The sunflowers seemed to be dancing. So I took a gazillion pictures.
They were in various stages of blooming.
I also took pictures of the zinnias. This zinnia is called Candy Cane and I fell in love with them. I will try to find them for my little garden.
I have had a little time off but now I am back. I accomplished some of what I had hoped to do but not as much as I would have liked. There is just so much to get done - of course, I am probably trying to do too much.
Have a great week. Jack is making his sauce today and I am working on my quilt. Should be a lovely day!

That farm is calling my name. What wonderful photos of the flowers they're growing. Oh the zinnias are amazing! I hope that you can grow the candy cane ones next summer. I've truly never seen anything but the traditional zinnia colors around here. Have a beautiful day. Yes, change is in the wind...
Looks like you had a great day trip Carol! Love the sunflowers, if you have trouble finding the zinnia seeds next spring let me know my Walmart usually has them. Have a fun day:@)
Just beautiful photos... We are seeing changes also. Last night was 49 degrees & know what???? It felt good!!
Have a Wonderful Day!

I love those zinnia too!... and life on the lake sounds serene.
Beautiful glorious sunflowers, great shots.
You went and changed your header again!!
Looks great!
The red and white variegated ones are something serious. I want some. Your images are gorgeous.
I love the zinnias - they're so pretty and unique! The sunflowers are lovely, too. It sounds like a great day.
Beautiful flower pictures. It does pay to stop and smell the flowers and to gaze at the mist - perhaps to write the first line of a poem or short story as you do. The days are shorter and time passes so quickly I find. Each day is a gift!
Hi Carol, your photos are just beautiful. I love sunflowers! I've never seen the candy cane zinnia before but it sure is a beauty! There is a noticible change in the air today for sure and the days are growing shorter. I love fall but not winter so you are very blessed to be able to escape it later on. Have a wonderful week. Pamela
Hi Carol, love the new header and the sunflower photographs are wonderful. I also love the Zinnia, great colours in it.
Wet and dull here today, hoping it will improve for September for our holidays. It does get dark about 8.30 pm now here in the UK!!
Take care, love from your friend in Surrey, UK, Jackie.x
Beautiful photos, Carol. Love the Candy Cane Zinnias....I've not seen them before. We had sunflowers early this year, and I enjoyed photographing them with the Doves pecking away at the seeds. Nice to see you back to blogging and so glad you were able to get to some of the 'ToDo's' on your list. I'm so looking forward to fall...I know you are, too.
Like your new header and appreciate hearing of signs of fall and cooler weather. It's a tad less humid here this week. Your photos are lovely, especially the dancing sunflowers!
I know what you mean about time going by so quickly. Today I was very aware that summer was on the wane...fall and winter around the corner. How can it be almost fall?
