Holiday Projects......

I know it is early to be talking about Christmas but it will be here before I know it and I have many things I would like to make before the holidays. I make most of the gifts I give to family and friends or I gift items that have been in the family and need to be passed on to someone who will treasure the piece that is living on a shelf in a cupboard.

And I like to make calendars. Last year Shutter Sisters provided templates for 2011. These templates could be used with Photoshop. This year I found the templates here. I struggle with Photoshop but managed to make a start this week. I would love to make my own templates but I don't see that in the near future!

The templates provided by Rick LePage are wonderful and so I began. The hardest part is choosing the photos you want to include and getting them in a place where you can add them to the template.

I am still playing with my photographs and choosing the ones I would like to use. I print them myself on 5 x 7 photograph paper. Someday I will have them printed elsewhere but for now I do them myself.

I am joining Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for another Pink Saturday! Below is one of the designs I am thinking of for February and it is PINK.
Happy Pink Saturday!

I buy frames on a sale at Pier One and then print and frame my own photos. Gives me satisfaction to see my own art on the walls of our home. Yours are awesome, so I say print them and enjoy them on a daily basis. :-))

Those are beautiful images for a calendar. I have wanted to do a calendar this year but still haven't gotten around to it and it's almost too late now to give as gifts. Next year....

They look fabulous, Carol! I got started on making some templates, but then I got sidetracked with a few photo sessions and making holiday card templates... hopefully I will get back on track soon. I love that first photo with the peppers -- yum!

What a great idea - and it's never too early to start if you're making the projects yourself (guess what my post is about this week, lol).

Happy Pink Saturday from the UK!

Happy Pink Saturday Carol Sweetie...
Oh my how I love Ms February. Is that not the most gorgeous share ever? I could smell the scent of roses clear out here in the Phoenix desert. How exquisite this photo is. The perfect choice for Valentine's month. I love it.

Can't wait to see your project completed. I know it will be fabulous. Have a glorious weekend sweetie. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

I remember your calendar from last year. I thought then what a neat gift, but didn't get around to doing one...course I didn't finish 'That Sock' either! This year I've taken some really special photos of my Grandson...I think they would be such a neat gift for my Son for his office. Thanks for the inspiration...I WILL GET IT DONE this year!

I love the idea of making calendars. The roses you shared are so pretty. My photos are not worthy of calendars but I love the idea.

Happy Pink Sat.

I would like to invite you to participate in my weekend linkup. It involves anything related to homemaking: recipes, sewing, decorating, crafts, DIY, a story about what you did today, etc! There’s a button at the top of my sidebar you can grab to help you to remember to come back each week. Just go to Thursday’s post titled, “Vintage Pilgrim Print & Homemaking Link-Up Weekend” for this week’s link up!

I too love to make gifts for family and friends. Last year I made a little sock monkey for my niece. This year I have been needlepointing a design on a pillowcase and then I am going to make it into a doll for her. I love your calendar!

Great ideas, Carol! Thanks for the links...I've saved them & also shared them with a friend. I must be tired, as I couldn't follow the instructions with the first reading but I'll try to tackle them later. Really cool gift idea!

Hugs,
Rett
