I wanted to take advantage of the fact that for about 2 weeks out of the year we have a fireplace. At Jack’s house we enjoy several fires before we go back to Florida. It only seemed fitting that we should enjoy a dinner there even if it meant sitting on the floor. I started with the leather ottoman, a board and a quilt. Jack made the fire and I got the dishes.
And look at that blue outside. The yard is bright because of outside lighting.
I made the quilt from feedsacks
The plates are Fiesta
Glassware is Banded Glassware
Red bowl is Fenton
Please visit Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday where you can see grownups playing with dishes. It is a fun party!

It looks absolutely cozy and enchanting. How lovely!
Very warm and cosy, I love open fires. We have a gas effect one in our lounge which always looks welcoming when on. Jackie in Surrey, UK.
Lovely table for some dining by the fire. The quilt is so pretty. I love the blue sky outside....
Hi Carol, Your fireside meal looks so cozy and welcoming, and I like the use of the quilt as a table covering! You captured the blue hour with your camera! Linda
What a romantic dinner by the fire. Your blue hour picture is so pretty; I haven't been able to master it yet. Joni
Lovely, beautiful table. And feedsack quilts are my favorite!
Karen
What a wonderful romantic setting. Enjoy your meal.
All of the colors go great with the quilt! I love the Band Ware, enjoy the fire:@)
Oh I love it! This is so similar to the cozy and simple tablescape I'm considering entering in Tablescape Thursdays - I'm thinking of using my parents cabin on a Lake in NH as my 'spot'. Too bad you have to go back to Florida! But I guess it's probably nice there too :) I've followed you and look forward to your future posts!

I love this! I like the platters as plates. I like to stack mine with jumbo mugs for soup and sandwich or salad.
Just really loved the photo (before the blue light picture) in front of the fireplace. There probably is not much need for a fireplace in FLorida -- I remember one summer that our family traveled to Maine for my grandparents 60th anniversary. It was in July and we stayed in their cabin on the Lake. It was so cold that we needed a fire in the fireplace at night. That is Maine for you! Til the next time. Rebecca
It looks wonderful, Carol! I am going to get my quilts our for a table.
This is wonderfully cozy, Carol. The quilt makes it even cozier....Christine

This is so romantic! I wish we had a fireplace but I am also in a place where I would probably only use it once or twice a year! Enjoy these special fireside moments!
Best wishes,
Natasha.
This is all so pretty Carol. It seems to me that you enjoy the best of all worlds; the lake, sunny Florida and Jack's romantic fireplace for cozy dinners! I love that you are sharing the joy in your journey.
I would love to have dinner at your table in front of the fire! Love the quilt!
Oh, I do love eating in front of a fire. The quilt is so pretty.
The feedsack quilt absolutely sets a wonderful mood for your Dinner a Deux in front of the fireplace. So comforting and definitely romantic. The platters make perfect chargers. Thank you for sharing your lovely design. Cherry Kay
