Coneflowers and Lace and a GIVEAWAY....

The summer seems to be just flying. It is time for Pink Saturday again hosted by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound. This event is one that I participated in almost since day one of my blog. My blog topics jump all over the place from food to quilting to knitting to dishes. However, pink is a constant particularly in the summer with the flowers.

It has been quite "warm" in Maine this week so we tried to do our food shopping early. I have been looking for Queen Anne's Lace to photograph. There is a butterfly garden near the Chamber of Commerce so we stopped there and I took pictures. No butterflies but lots of bees!

A little milkweed tucked here and there.

And some lace for the Queen....

Don't forget my giveaway to celebrate 300 posts. I entry for every comment. Followers get 2.
Be sure to stop in and say hi to the other pinks and have a great weekend!

Hi Carol, congrats on 300 posts. Your one for Pink Saturday is wonderful as usual. I have been out in the garden today and cut some asparagus fern to improve the arrangement of some flowers I bought at the supermarket.

The weather is picking up a bit here, it has been quite warm today but clouded over now.

Have a great weekend and a very pink Saturday!! Love Jackie in UK. xx

We have a huge field of Queen Ann's Lace very near our house. It even extends into the forest of the subdivision. I love it!

Congratulations on your many posts. I've enjoyed them all.

Best,
Bonnie

Congrats, Carol! Bloggyville is such fun. I got my PS up early.

Love your florals. Ours are suffering horribly from this heat wave. We have very FEW bees at all again this year.

Happy PS weekend ~

Those are great pics! We don't have hardly any flowers or anything left here to speak of. The drought is killing it all very slowly. 23 days of l00 or over temps!

What beautiful photos you've taken! I've seen a lot of white blooms by the trail and wondered what they are and figured they must be milkweed (I know they aren't QAL) as I've seen the pods there in the fall. Now I must try to get out and get some pics of them. Enjoy the 'warm' weather! :-) Pamela

Very pretty and I like how you added the wildflowers, too. Stay cool as you can. The big scorcher is tomorrow and then some cooling again. I do recommend a movie theater even if you sleep through the movie. ;>

Coneflowers! That is the name of the beautiful flowers that I have in the bed on the side of my house. This spring and summer has been an adventure for me to see what the lady who lived in the house before me had planted in this yard. It seems when one thing passes its season another pops up. I had no idea since we bought the home when it was buried under the snow. Your photos are just beautiful, Carol! Thank you for sharing them.

I do love queen anne's lace -- loved it when I was a kid and it grew wild all along the sides of the roads where we had our summer bungalow.

I would pick it and bring it home, and my Mom would not let me put it on the table! "Bugs!" ... and she was usually right, there always seemed to be little buggies on the lacy flowers.

coneflowers are wonderful, but I've never had any luck in growing them. Any hints?
Cass
