Note Card Party

I find in Florida that live plants on my lanai are not a good thing.

The combination of the rain, humidity, concrete etc. just creates a mold that I cannot control. However, I love the touch of color that flowers add. The picture above is of ranunculus in an Italian pottery basket and I use it inside and out. The ranunculus below live in a vintage iron planter that is on the lanai wall.

The poppies below are at the top of the stairs and greet me many times during the day. I have had this arrangement for years and it still makes me smile.

Lastly, the sunflowers which are real. I love the "Under the Tuscan Sun" and the Italian pottery helps create the look.

I have meant to join Vee for her Notecard Party for months. No excuse whatsoever! So today is the day.  You can see the other notecards here

And, of course, the box top with the help of PicMonkey.

Since we are not in Florida year round, I have given up on all flowers other than my outdoor hibiscus. I lost a 90 years old Christmas cactus several years ago when the neighbor's husband decided it needed a lot of water daily. I almost cried myself sick. So, no more attachments to flowers until I am settled. But, of course, we know that will never happen. sigh.... Have always, always loved ranunculus. Grew them years ago. So beautiful. And yes, I certainly understand the "mold" issue down here.

Lovely post Carol.Having flowers in the house affects my allergies especially daffodils for some reason!! I usually keep fresh flowers in the conservatory which is only single glazed and they survive really well in there and we enjoy sitting in there in the Spring / Summer. The ranuculus would look lovely in there and the sunflowers as they are lovely and bright !! Enjoy. Jackie.x

Glad you made it to the party, Carol! I am far too an infrequent visitor, myself - though I plan it, BUSY sometime keeps me away. Glad I could enjoy your work today. LOVE the sunflowers - the ripply edges say "vintage" to me - and that's always a happy place.
Joy!
Kathy

Breathtaking beauty.

I love the poppies in the 3rd picture. They are so lacy and delicate and I've not seen that color.

A wonderful set of cards.

Your flowers are lovely! The poppy is such a delicate color. We sure have a lot of flowers blooming now in Florida, don't we? I love it!

Gorgeous boxtop with some sort of editing treatment that is very cool. Your flowers are beautiful...wish I could find some faux that looked so nice. Every location has its challenges, don't they... Thanks for hopping on, Carol. Hope that you've had fun!

Lovely photos Carol. Ranunculus is such a lovely plant isn't it? It and the poppy have such beautiful blooms. Great choices for this party- hope you're having fun and will participate again.

Welcome to the party, Carol. Love your flowers. Funny how we who live in more northerly climes think that flowers wouldn't cause any problems in Florida.

Love the sunflowers and the reference to Tuscan Sun.
