Tomatoes, flowers and socks

The tomatoes are ready at Sherman Farms. We go twice a week and buy lots. Soon I will get a bag of green tomatoes to make green tomato relish. But tonight we will have Insalata Caprese. First a nice thick slice of tomato. Then a nice slice of Buffalo Mozzarella which is topped with another slice of tomato. I drizzle the stack with good olive oil and gently tear some basil leaves. Sometimes a sprinkle them on top and other times I garnish as I did for tonight.

A snapdragon and some opal basil complete the plate. I used my Fiesta plates for tonight. We have had a lot of company so I thought I would fuss just for the two of us. We can go back to paper plates tomorrow.

Yes, the countertops are linoleum! I love them.

The zinnias are blooming in my little garden.

The bee balm is just starting to burst open.

And I finished a sock and started another one AND it fits. I will do another sad post about my fat sausage feet sock first unsuccessful effort another day.

Have a great week! I am still having issues with my modem.

HI Carol, your supper sounds so appetizing and light fare on a hot day. I love the sock colour. Nice and bright! We have a thunder shower warning on for our area and I can hear a few rumbles now. It's been very hot and humid but I love it! I hope you have a wonderful week. Pamela

I'm so jealous of that tomato and your delicious looking supper. Must ask my aunt and uncle if they go to Sherman Farms. Your bee balm looks about at the same stage as mine. Beautiful!

We have linoleum counter tops at our camp and love them, too. Easy to clean and nice and bright and the price was right.

I love a tomato basil mozzerella salad, ESPECIALLY with fresh garden tomatoes. our are still green. I'd love to know the recipe for your relish, never heard of it!

Hi Carol,
This is one of our favourites here too, although I can't always get a real buffalo mozzarella andit's not the same with the "fake" stuff!

Hi Carol, Your supper looked just what I needed with the heat that we are having. We are in a storm warning until the wee hours of the morning. I am hoping that it cools it down a little. I have enjoyed your blog tonight. Have a great day. Your Missouri Friend.
